Spring Equinox - Distant Thunder

+out of reach

moving distant, if even for a week

overeducated, so put out of reach

but not smart enough to leave you alone

acknowledging how i pick up my phone

while hiking, saw an unassuming timberdoodle

flimsy, scarce as pete’s garbage pocket doodle

his was penned on scrap receipt paper

laminated with tape, loose in life, safer

midday rest, scanning the woods out my window

such great heights, how many stories will you grow?

no desire to double back over online youth

this fleeting dose is my program, my telling truth
